CW Only POTA Activation, Aug 14 – Jennet’s Park(GB-4285)

What a fantastic evening for our latest Parks on the Air (POTA) event! The Bracknell Amateur Radio Club (BARC) had its first activation of GB-4285, Jennet’s Park and Peacock Meadows Country Park, focusing on CW operation.

We had two QRP stations on the air. Dave, G3YMC, was on 40m with his homemade doublet, and Gopan, M0XUU, was on 20m with a newly built set of 1/4 wave vertical phased antennas. It was great to see the new gear in action!

A big shout-out to Callum, M7SRC, who stepped up to the mic—or rather, the key—and did an excellent job on 20m CW. We’re excited to see more club members exploring CW. Dave also got to try out the GM0EUL CW paddle he recently won from the GQRP Club—congrats again, Dave!

We even had a couple of unexpected visitors who were interested in what we were doing. We enjoyed chatting with them and hope they’ll join us for a club meeting soon.

It was a brilliant social evening with great weather. We can’t wait for our next POTA event in September. Want to learn more about amateur radio or join the fun? Send us a message!
