20m SSB Saves the Day at Buckhurst Park POTA Activation

We had fantastic autumn weather on the afternoon of Sunday 4th October for a park activation at Buckhurst Park, Wokingham (POTA GB-5882) Several members of the club had been awake for most of the night while talking part in the Oceana DX Contest, but still managed to set up two stations.

While 40m proved challenging for Daniel (G4DGC) due to poor conditions, Mick (G0MGK) made the most of 20m SSB, locking in 14 contacts before the band closed. Thanks to his efforts, Buckhurst Park was officially activated for GX4BRA.

To top off a great day, we welcomed two new members to the club, bringing our total membership to a new record of 90. They came along to see the setup and enjoyed a good chat about all things radio abd club activities.
