Club Stall and POTA (GB-4661) Activation at 1st Twyford Scouts Donkey Derby

hat a fun day today at the 1st Twyford Scouts Donkey Derby. A great opportunity to meet so many local families and to talk amateur radio

Our very well organised stalls were kept busy throughout the day and whole families were involved and entertained. The CW practice sessions, with awards at the end were very popular. It was amazing how quickly the children managed to pick up Morse code using the practise keys. The whole event was a credit to Paul 2E0PNL, his family and the local Scout Group.

Conditions on HF were very poor, but we did get several good reports and hit the POTA activation target, so well done to Mick G0MGK and Martin 2E0XBZ as this was a real achievement in the 40m conditions.

Thank you everyone that attended, helped with the set up and throughout the day, then clearing away afterwards. The Sun was stronger than I realised, so a sore face last night and this morning.
