A fun POTA Activation of Frost Folly
Members of Bracknell Amateur Radio Club took advantage of the unusually mild and sunny conditions for early March to attempt a ‘Parks on the Air’ (POTA) activation of Frost Folly (GB-4277) in Bracknell, Berkshire, UK.
Paul 2E0PNL and Paul G4HLF had planned the activation for our first club visit to Frost Folly, a small but relatively high location in our area. Setting-up took about 20mins, working together to set-up the HF Vertical Antenna, Xiegu x6100 QRP Transceiver and self-spotting to get things started.

With around 10 members and their families attending and helping out, it was a fun and social event. It was good to see some of our newest members attending to see how an activation attempt worked.
Starting at around 1:30pm and finishing around 4pm having packed everything back up, we had successfully activated the park with 22 contacts across europe and even New York, using only 10w SSB.

Thank you to all involved and all that visited us to support the event.
