Kind Donation by Frank G3GRY (SK)
Club Member Frank Wiseman (G3GRY) followed his father G6TM into the Amateur Radio Hobby, gaining his own call-sign in 1950 following National Service as a RADAR Mechanic in the RAF. Making many friends over the years and enjoying the on-air activity, Frank maintained weekly contact with his ‘old G friends’ as he called them, on 80m and 40m, using his ICOM IC-7300 and a 1KW capable Linear Amplifier.
We were so sadenned to hear that Frank passed away last year, with many of us finding out via the RadCom Silent Key section.
When I last visited Frank, to help connect a new EFLW Antenna he had bought, I was still studying for my Foundation Exam. To start me on my way, Frank very kindly gave me his ICOM IC-821H that he had been using for many years. This is the radio I still use today for the BARC VHF & UHF Nets on a weekly basis.
Frank had expressed to his Son and Daughter, Mike and Caroline, that he would like to donate his Amateur Radio Equipment to the Club, preferably to be used and enjoyed by the Club and its Members.

On behalf of all of us at the club I would like to thank Frank, Mike and Caroline for such a generous and thoughtful donation to us all. It is very much appreciated and will be put to great use by the club in contests and events.
Rest in peace Frank, 73.
