Visit to Telonic Instruments – 24 March 2023

Having browsed the Telonic Instruments adverts and brochures in the RSGB RadCom magazing recently, Bracknell ARC contacted the company, based in Wokingham, Berkshire and were kindly invited by Karen to visit the showroom. The extensive range of high specification equipment including power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes and much, much more, was of great interest to BARC Members.

The invitation received a great response from our members with thirteen attending just before lunchtime on Friday 24th March. The weather was very wet, so visiting the bright, modern and equipment-packed showroom was an ideal visit for such a day.

After being greeted by Karen, Doug, Tom and Nikol, our hosts for the visit, we began our visit over coffee and biscuits. There was so much equipment on display that it took over two hours to take a look at and try some of the equipment. Most of the test instruments availbale from Telonic are ideal for the radio amateur but there are also many very specialised professional instruments for testing all aspects of RF and Electrical equipment.

Being able to get up close to frequency generators, counters and oscilloscopes and try the features was really useful and much better than viewing equipment on the internet. Having Doug and Tom on hand to explain and demonstrate the features and answer any questions was an enourmous benefit.

At lunchtime our group was very kindly treated to a lovely lunch, enough to cater for twice as many people and this offered a great opportunity to chat with Doug and Tom and for a social catch-up between our members.

With all the incredibly useful kit on show and some special items on sale, a number of members purchased kit to upgrade or replace their existing test equipment.
